To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what action he proposes to take to address the recent reductions in cull cow prices. [17046]

The majority of cull cows go through the Over Thirty Months Scheme (OTMS). The Government will spend more than £300 million this year on OTMs compensation and disposal.Compensation rates, and the scheme in general, are kept under review in the light of new scientific advice, market movements and costs.
