To ask the Secretary of State for Health what arrangements are made to deal with the NHS waiting lists of consultant-level surgeons and physicians in the United Kingdom while they are serving with SFOR. [16227]

Consultant surgeons and physicians serving with the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) are called up from Service hospitals and from Ministry of Defence Hospital Units at National Health Service trusts. It is for the hospitals concerned to take appropriate action to manage the waiting times of any NHS patients affected by the deployment of consultants overseas.
