To ask the Secretary of State for Health what progress has been made on the completion of PFI projects in the Trent region. [51006]

Seven private finance initiative (PFI) projects with a combined capital value of £14.8 million either are complete and operational or have started work on site. Two further PFI schemes (combined capital value of £3.2 million) have had their Full Business Cases approved and are expected to reach financial close this year.Two further trusts—Queen's Medical Centre and Fosse Health—are working closely with their preferred private sector partners on major PFI schemes and are expected to submit Full Business Cases before the end of the year.
