Mrs. Ellman
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps he takes to assess value for money in the purchase of ambulances by health trusts; and if he will make a statement. [67219]
Mr. Hutton
The purchase of ambulance vehicles is the responsibility of individual National Health Service ambulance trusts. All NHS trusts are expected to adhere to purchasing policies and procedures which ensure fitness for purpose, demonstrate best value for the NHS and maintain the highest standards of probity.
