To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the (a) instructors, (b) location and (c) subjects concerned in the one day human rights course for new Foreign Office recruits. [67368]

Human rights training courses are held in the FCO and are organised by the Human Rights Policy Department. They cover international law and institutions, UK policy, projects and case studies, as well as presentations by NGOs. In human rights training courses over the last six months, presentations have been given by Amnesty International; Save the Children Fund; Article 19; Penal Reform International; Medical Foundation for the Victims of Torture; and Minority Rights Group.
