To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what the total cost of pay was for chairmen, directors and senior managers of health boards in Scotland in the current financial year. [78028]
Mr. Galbraith
The total cost of pay for executive directors and senior managers in Scotland's Health Boards will not be available until the end of May. Remuneration to Scotland's 15 Health Board Chairmen in 1998–99 is £228,420; the estimated remuneration to non-executive members of the Health Boards is estimated at £390,000.From 1 July 1999, this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
