To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of 17 December 1998, Official Report, columns 726–27, if he will make a further statement on the Government's policy in respect of proposals discussed at the meeting in Brussels of the European Convention on Mutual Legal Assistance as they relate to the interception of communications.
