To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much public funding is available for NHS hospital building programmes within the Greater London area. [95231]
National health service capital allocations for the period 2003–04 to 2005–06 were announced on 8 January 2003. The capital allocations provide funding for the NHS hospital building programme and other capital investment within the NHS.The amount allocated to the NHS organisations in London was £307million for 2003–04, £340 million for 2004–05 and £374 million for 2005–06. A breakdown is shown in the table.This investment will be supplemented by additional public capital funding that will be issued in the future, and by investment from the Private Finance Initiative.
