To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what his estimate is of the cost of increasing the basic state pension by (a) £5 per week, (b) £10 per week, (c) £15 per week, (d) £20 per week, and (e) to £100 per week, for (i) all pensioners, (ii) pensioners of age 75 and over, and (iii) pensioners of age 80 and over. The information requested is set out in the tables.4. For modelling purposes, pension credit is assumed to be in place throughout 2003–04. In fact, Pension credit will begin in October 2003.
