My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State, has held no meetings with his European counterparts on cloning. However, cloning has been on the agenda at a number of international meetings attended by the Prime Minister and Science Minister since 1998.The United Kingdom was the first European country to put in place a specific legal ban on human reproductive cloning in 2001 and we continue to support moves in the United Nations to introduce a global ban on human reproductive cloning.
