To ask the Secretary of State for Health what discussions he has had with the Home Office regarding the provision of extra resources to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust in order to treat prisoners at Chorley and Preston hospitals. [99951]

Responsibility for meeting the costs of prisoners' medical treatment in hospital lies entirely with the National Health Service. Allocations made to primary care trusts include provision for the costs of such services.
