To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what action he is taking to help (a) benefit recipients and (b) pensioners open a post office card account. [102959]

The card account is just one of three account options available to customers. We are running an information campaign to highlight all the options available, including access at a post office. We are writing to benefit and pensions recipients with detailed information about all the options available to them, including the post office card account. Customers can also call the Direct Payment Information line if they have any questions about changing to direct payment.
