The Governor has overall responsibility for internal security, but budgetary provision for this rests with the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG). The Governor delegates day to day operations to TCIG Ministries and law enforcement agencies. Fifteen new police officers have been deployed in the last few weeks.
