To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what the estimated cost is in 2003–04 to his Department, agencies and the non-departmental public bodies for which he is responsible of the increase in the national minimum wage from £4.20 per hour to £4.50 per hour. [110444]

No additional costs for staff will be incurred by my Department, agencies and the non-departmental public bodies for which I am responsible as a result of the increase in the national minimum wage with the exception of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency where the estimated cost is £120,000, related to voluntary auxilliary coastguards.
