To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received concerning an award by Interpol to the Commissioner of Police for Zimbabwe; and if he will make a statement. [114988]

We were not involved in Interpol's decision to appoint the Zimbabwe Police Commissioner as Honorary Vice President, and we believe it was wrong. With our strong support, the EU Presidency will write to the Secretary General of Interpol, expressing the EU's concern and asking them to reconsider this appointment.
