To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if she will make a statement on the proposed implementation of the EU Copyright Directive. [115539]

Much of what is required to comply this Directive is already provided by existing UK copyright law. We are in the process of finalising those changes to law that are needed, in the light of the many views expressed during the public consultation which concluded last autumn.
