Unallocated Cases

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellors Department how many cases in (a) private and (b) public law remained unallocated on (i) 31 December 2002 and (ii) 30 March 2003; and what the average time taken to complete reports was in both categories. [115655]

The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS) recorded 609 unallocated cases in public law nationally on 31 December 2002 and 651 unallocated on the 30 March 2003.In private law the figures were 1,248 and 1,243 respectively. CAFCASS does not keep data on the time taken to complete reports.
