To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many agency workers have been employed by the Department in each of the last two years; and at what cost to public funds. [115194]

The information requested is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost. Temporary staff are generally used as an interim measure to fill posts that cannot be filled conventionally in the required timescale or to cover short term peaks in workload.
