Pension Provision (Foster Carers)

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions if he will make a statement on Government plans to assist for foster carers with pension provision. [116803]

Regulations will be laid before Parliament shortly that will extend home responsibilities protection to registered foster carers, so that those years of caring count towards reducing the number of qualifying years needed to obtain a full basic State Pension.
