To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills when he will make an announcement on the new Education Maintenance Allowance scheme. [122038]
Mr. Ivan Lewis
We announced last July that we plan to make the Education Maintenance Allowance scheme available throughout England from September 2004 to those students who complete their compulsory education in the 2003/04 Academic Year. We will be making further details about the national scheme available soon.
