To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much money has been saved each year by the national health service as a result of the Selected List of NHS Drugs Scheme. [123454]

[holding answer 3 July 2003]: The Selected List Scheme was introduced in 1985 and the savings to the national health service have been estimated at £75 million a year.
