To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to phase out the practice of private patients using NHS hospitals pay beds and other provision; and if he will make a statement. [120054]

This is a matter for local decision. The Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Bill imposes a limit on the amount of private work that national health service foundation trusts may carry out. They will not be able to undertake a higher proportion of private work than they do at present.
