To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many children suffered from anorexia in each year since 1997. [125092]

This information is not collected centrally. A survey carried out by the Office for National Statistics in 1999 found that the prevalence of eating disorders (including anorexia nervosa) among all children aged five to 15 was 0.1 per cent, and the rate for girls aged five to 15, 0.2 per cent.
