To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what recent assessment has been undertaken of museum entry prices; what plans there are to make an assessment; and if she will make a statement. [128777]

Since 1 December 2001, all the principal museums and galleries sponsored by this Department have offered free admission to all. This has been a huge success. In 2002–03, the first full year of free access, our sponsored museums and galleries received over 32 million visits—over 8 million more than in 1997.
