To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many teachers have left the teaching profession in Northern Ireland in each year since 1997; and how many have been recruited. [126499]

(a) The number of permanent teachers who ceased teaching in a permanent capacity in each academic year since 1997 is as follows:
