Alcohol (Health Warnings)

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what recent discussions he has had with regard to the displaying of health warnings on alcohol beverages.[129209]

The Government are committed to ensuring that everyone has a right to know how much alcohol they are drinking and what the safe limits for consumption are. As part of the work to develop a national alcohol harm reduction strategy, the strategy unit is working closely with other Government Departments and will be looking at the most effective way of achieving this. The strategy is due to be published towards the end of 2003 and implemented from 2004.
