To ask the Minister of State, Department for Constitutional Affairs what factors decide who should carry out a post-mortem. (65537)

Any decision will rest with the coroner, who may be expected to take into account the availability and experience of pathologists, as well as the views of others. Rule 6 of the Coroners Rules 1984 sets out the criteria.
