Regional Growth

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what progress has been made against the Government’s target to reduce the disparity in growth rates between English regions. (75735)

All English regions grew in 2003 and 2004 and the poorer-performing regions narrowed the gap in growth rates with London, the South East and East.

The Government will make a full report on progress towards its regional economic performance target later in the year.
