To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many complaints by the general public concerning the Highways Agency have been received in each year since 1997; and if he will make a statement. (75918)

Figures for written complaints by the general public to the Highways Agency are only available from 2000 following the installation of a new computerised correspondence recording system late in 1999. Figures for oral complaints to the Highways Agency's information line are only available from 2001 due to changes in recording systems.
