To ask the Secretary of State for Health what research her Department has (a) commissioned and (b) evaluated on whether health professionals request the involvement of parents or guardians of persons under 16 years of age before any medical treatment is given; and if she will make a statement. The Department has not commissioned research into the involvement of parents or guardians in decisions about medical treatment for young people.
