To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment she has made of the implications of the recent talks between the Somali Government and the Islamic Courts Union militia; and if she will make a statement. (79925)

We welcome any talks destined to resolve Somalia's problems peacefully. We have urged both sides to engage in dialogue and resolve Somalia's conflict through the framework of the transitional charter and the transitional federal institutions.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if she will make a statement on the security situation in Somalia. (80320)
