Advertising Expenditure

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport pursuant to the answer of 22 May 2006, Official Report, column 1407W, on advertising, what the reason was for the increase in expenditure on advertising between 2004-05 and 2005-06. (77194)

The increase in expenditure on advertising between 2004-05 and 2005-06 was due a one-off information campaign directly targeted at small independent businesses, to help them understand the provisions of the new Licensing Act. This included advertising in the regional and specialist press throughout England and Wales.
