Retirement Age

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of 13 February 2006, Official Report, columns 1695-96W, on retirement age, whether the conclusion set out in the answer depends upon the assumption of changes in current practice with regard to continued eligibility following career breaks. The probability of a 20-year-old public sector worker leaving employment before age 60 was based on analysis of recent experience. No change was assumed in eligibility for pension scheme membership following career breaks.
