To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the 10 most expensive pieces of artwork are which are owned or held by his Department; what the value is of each; and who the owner is of each. (83571)

The 10 most valuable pieces of artwork are three antique silver ink stands valued at £200,000 each, and seven antique silver candle holders valued at £60,000 each, all of which are owned by the Treasury.

These pieces of artwork are reported as part of the net book values disclosed in the Departmental Resource accounts for 2005-06.
