I understand from the chair of the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) that the information on places in nursing and care homes is not available in the precise form requested. CSCI collects statistics in respect of places for people who are elderly mentally infirm (EMI) under the two registration categories of older people with dementia (DE) and older people with mental disorder (MD).
As such, CSCI’s statistics for these client groups for the metropolitan boroughs of Liverpool, Sefton, St. Helens and Wirral for the year 2005-06 are shown in the table.
