Specialist Falls Services

Volume 450: debated on Monday 23 October 2006

To ask the Secretary of State for Health which hospitals have a specialist falls service. (92291)

The information requested is not held centrally. A national audit of falls and bone health services produced by the Royal College of Physicians in January 2006 found that 74 per cent. of trusts in England are part of a co-ordinated, integrated, multi-professional, multi- agency service for falls. The audit also found that 47 per cent. of acute hospitals and 57 per cent. of day hospitals had an operational base for the specialist falls service.
