Age Discrimination

Volume 451: debated on Wednesday 1 November 2006

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government whether the Government intend to introduce legislation on age discrimination in the provision of goods, facilities and services. (98753)

The discrimination law review is considering the case for prohibiting age discrimination in the provisions of goods, facilities and services and the exercise of public functions. We expect to publish a Green Paper around the turn of the year. The Green Paper is intended to lead to a single equality Bill, in line with the Government's manifesto to introduce such a Bill in this Parliament.
