To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent representations have been made to the government of Pakistan concerning the position of Christians in Pakistan. (97492)

I raised the issue of Christians in Pakistan during my meeting with the Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on 7 March and asked him to take action to protect religious minorities. In August, our Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi also raised this issue with the Pakistani Minister for Religious Minorities. We shall continue to look for suitable opportunities to repeat this.
