In the last 12 months, one recruitment campaign for junior administrative posts required applicants to have a minimum of 5 GCSE/GCE subjects at grade A-C, one of which had to be in (a) English and (b) Mathematics. This represents 2.43 per cent. of all advertised vacancies.
