Concessionary Travel

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of the extent to which bus companies are increasing their fares as a result of the concessionary fares scheme to increase their revenue; and if he will make a statement. (103110)

Outside London it is for the bus operators to set fares; they will take a number of factors into account when doing so, including the impacts of fare increases on the majority of bus passengers who pay a commercial fare.
