My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary and I have regular and frequent discussions with our EU counterparts on Turkey’s EU accession process. We remain firmly committed to Turkey’s accession to the EU. While recognising that Turkey must fulfil its obligations, we stress to our EU counterparts that Turkey’s is a strategically important accession.
