National Insurance Deficiency Notices

Volume 455: debated on Wednesday 10 January 2007

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many national insurance deficiency notices have been distributed since (a) 30 November 2005 and (b) 25 May 2006; and how many of those notices were sent to individuals who would reach state pension age on or after 6 April 2010. (112919)

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer I gave the hon. Member for Yeovil (Mr. Laws) on 27 November 2006, Official Report, column 352W. The updated figure for the number of deficiency notices issued since 25 May 2006 is now 3.2 million. The information on the numbers of these notices sent to individuals who reach state pension age on or after 6 April 2010 is not readily available.
