To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how much has been spent by the Department on external legal advice in each of the past five years. (109107)

The Department came into being in July 2001. From information held centrally, the core-Department has spent the following sums on external legal payments in each of the past five years:
