To ask the Secretary of State for Health what discussions her Department has held with other relevant Government departments concerning the role of hospitals in civil emergency planning. (117167)

In taking forward the Government’s Capabilities Programme, the Department has regular discussions with the Cabinet Office civil contingencies secretariat and together with other Government departments in seeking to build resilience across all parts of the United Kingdom. The discussions cover the wider aspects of health emergency planning and include issues relating to the acute trusts’ role in civil emergency planning.
