To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the backlog is of unopened letters in HM Revenue and Customs processing offices in the south-east. (111597)

HMRC processes require that letters received from customers are opened on the day of receipt and a count of unopened items is therefore not maintained.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many letters to HM Revenue and Customs from individual taxpayers have yet to be answered. (111598)
