To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many police officers are serving within Northern Ireland constabularies. (122442)

I am advised that as of February 2007 the number of police officers serving within Northern Ireland constabularies is as follows:

Reserve officers	753
Constables part-time	828
Belfast Harbour police	30
Larne Harbour police	7
Airport police	¹24
¹24 officers at present, but in the process of recruiting extra staff which will bring the number up to 27 officers in total.
