To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has issued guidelines on the employment of suspects held in prisons on terrorist charges as prison chaplains or imams; and if he will make a statement. (125380)

[holding answer 5 March 2007]: The employment of prisoners as Muslim chaplains or imams is not permissible. There is a rigorous selection clearance process for the employment of Muslim chaplains.
