To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how much was spent by (a) her Department and (b) public bodies for which she is responsible on (i) security, (ii) cleaning, (iii) repair, (iv) refurbishment and (v) other costs in relation to the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain in each of the last 12 months; and if she will make a statement. The Royal Parks Agency (TRP) has responsibility for maintaining the Diana Memorial Fountain. In the 12 months up to the end of January 2007 TRP spent a total of £86,579 on security and cleaning and £111,449 on maintenance and other costs.

The cost per visitor in the period was 28 pence.
