To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many midwives were employed in the NHS in Leicestershire in each year since 1997. (123191)

The number of midwives employed in the national health service in Leicestershire in each year since 1997 is shown in the following table. 2005 is the latest year for which centrally validated figures are available.
