To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many children were excluded (a) temporarily and (b) permanently for bullying in schools in each year between 1997 and 2006. (126073)

Information on the reasons for pupil exclusions is available from 2003/04 and has been provided in the table as follows.

Information relating to exclusions during the 2005/06 school year is expected to be available in June 2007.
